The solution’s operations are based around the communications between:
PLCs:
Perform readings and operations;
Gateways:
Ensure the PLCs connectivity;
Cloud platform:

Allow for user interaction.
The details of these components are presented as follows:
Programmable Logic Controller
The PLC is the device responsible for reading and operating on sensors and actuators. The data is then sent to the Gateway through cable or wireless connection.
This device can be adapted according to the client’s needs, meaning the amount of I/O ports, the readings of voltage and/or current and the readings of digital and/or analogical sensors can be personalized..
Gateway
The Gateway is the device that interacts with the PLCs and the cloud platform getting the data of the readings from the PLCs and securely sending them to the cloud platform. The information flow can also happen in the opposite direction, meaning the cloud platform can send information to the Gateway that then sends it to the PLCs, in the case of intelligent or external operations.
Cloud Platform
Most of the data processing will occur in the cloud platform, which integrates:
- Databases to store the information;
- Routine centers for data processing;
- Application Programming Interface (API) that ensures the interaction of the platform to external systems;
- Data analysis routines, enabling operations optimization like failure predictions;
- Scripts that realize machine learning applications.
Graphical Interface (Dashboard)
The solutions offers a Dashboard where the user is able to:
- Analyze the data in charts and in real time;
- Program alerts (which can be received by email or texting apps);
- Operate on predetermined devices;
- Calibrate the sensors’ readings;
- Program reports to be sent about the industrial plant;
- Create and read performance indicators (KPI), among other functionalities.
On Demand
The solution can also be acquired partially. With the exception of the cloud platform, which is the base of the solution, all the other components (Dashboard, Gateway and PLC) may be acquired optionally.
